TAZA Fork
With the Taza fork, we wanted to introduce a completely re-designed successor to our famous BPC fork.
Alongside a complete aesthetic overhaul, we also updated the specs to match contemporary MTB geometries and componentry. The postmount brake capacity was increased to PM7 to allow for 180 - 220 mm rotors, while the axle-to-crown was increased to 510 mm to better suit the general trend in growth of suspension fork travel.
But beauty is not just skin deep, and by using the same embedded mount technology as seen in our MGV fork, it can carry a heavier luggage load than our previous BPC fork. Add to that its fully guided internal dynamo cable routing and there you have the perfect fork for MTB / bikepacking rigs or wide-tired ultra-distance race builds.
During design, we recognised that many riders want the option to change between their setups. To make this process easier, we decided to opt for external brake hose routing - no more having the to re-bleed the front brake after switching forks. TAZA also sets itself apart from other utility, suspension-corrected carbon forks on the market. The boss in the fork crown is rated to platform rack use, not just light mounting, and the axle to crown measurement is more dialed in to work better with bikes designed for longer travel suspension forks. Under the surface, the TAZA is truly a unique piece of equipment.
The TAZA fork featured in a review with the guys at Bikepacking.com, where they gave us an in-depth analysis after 1000 miles of rough use. They showed us that the TAZA was well suited to long days of loaded up riding, performing well at tapping out the miles on rough terrain with more gear. They also pointed out the fork's responsive handling when riding more technical terrain with less equipment.
"Seido Taza is a solid performer. It offers a balance of cargo capacity, thoughtful mounting options, and ride stability that makes it a great companion for everything from weekend trips to longer tours"

NOTE: The maximum cage mount load refers to the dynamic load that the mounts are exposed to. Forks with mounted cages must be treated with great care. Leaning the bike with the cage against a wall or onto the ground, or hitting obstacles with the cage will result in a dynamic load that exceeds the maximum load by far. Installed cages need to touch the fork blade surface within a radius of 5 mm around the center of the mounting bolt. Some cages might need to use washers between cage and fork blade.
